Hidden Valley Ranch,
located in the heart of the South Texas brush country, offers ideal habitat and plentiful forage for the whitetail. In addition to the available natural vegetation, a year-round feeding program supplements the growth and vigor of the deer. Free-choice protein feeders, food plots, oat fields, and the native brush and forbs offer an exceptional environment high in protein and fiber. Healthy food makes healthy deer.

Licensed by the State of Texas as a Scientific Breeder of Whitetail Deer, Serial #TX1536, Hidden Valley Ranch breeds deer to supplement its deer population with improved and varied genetics in a never-ending quest to enhance the trophy quality and size of deer for harvest.

Hunting is conducted from sturdy, weather-resistant blinds strategically located near water, food plots and areas of established deer travel. We provide comfortable and safe refuge from the elements while pursuing prized whitetails.

Morning and evening hunts will embark from a newly completed lodge, offering all the comforts and amenities of home, including home cooked meals. The Grona family will make every effort to ensure a comfortable, enjoyable and exciting experience, while the deer of Hidden Valley Ranch will ensure a memorable trip.

Typically hunts are concluded within three days and include lodging and home cooked meals in our newly completed hunting lodge. We welcome non-hunting guests, for a fee of $100 per day, space permitting.

Normally, all our hunts are limited to four hunter slots per hunt, and all hunts will be guided one on one by persons well versed in scoring and aging deer on the hoof. Reservations for hunting slots will be on a first come first honored basis. A $1,000 deposit is required to book each hunter's slot with the balance being due on arrival. If an emergency makes it impossible for you to make your scheduled hunt, your hunt may be rescheduled depending on availability for up to one year from your originally scheduled hunt. As a rule, deposits are not refunded, as time slots are valuable. Therefore, every effort should be made to honor your scheduled hunt.

The hunting schedule and fees for such are subject to change until reserved with a reservation deposit. Gratuities are not included, and as such are a reflection of your satisfaction and are left up to the discretion of our guests.

The weather in South Texas during hunting season can change at the "drop of a hat." Conditions can range from hot and dry to wet and cold, in the same day. Temperatures can range from the mid thirties to the upper eighties.

STRAWS AVAILABLE from BOTH of these superior bucks!

At Hidden Valley Ranch
our Texas Scientific Breeding Program, TX 1536, involves the use of 6-8 superior breeder bucks with 65-85 does. We raise pen deer for sale to other breeders, as permitted by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and also deer for release into the wild of our 2,500 acre ranch. We also sell stocker deer to other deer ranches. Normally we market breeder bucks at age 2, and occasionally some of our active breeders at age 3-4 years.

Doe fawns, when marketed are from 6-12 months of age. Mature bred does are sold at age 3-4.

Year after year, our breeding program is two-fold, to enhance the genetic quality of our breeding stock and that of our hunting stock. This is a never-ending pursuit.

We continue to maintain a high percentage of South Texas blood lines in our herd. In the Fall of this year we will laproscopically breed Nooner Whitetails' "Stickers" (335-1/8 B&C at age 5), 5F Game Ranch's "Bambi Prickly Pear" (233 B&C at age 4), Triple JJJ Ranch's "Thicket" (230 B&C at age 3) and Kris Jenn Ranch's "King Solomon" (222.4 B&C at age 2) to many of our Flinstone daughters. These great bucks will introduce quality genetics thatw ill aid HVR to perpetuate our superior deer herd.

HVR is proud to introduce Mr. Tom Williams and his wife Carolyn as the new stewards of our operation. They'd enjoy meeting you and showing you the Hidden Valley Ranch and our superior deer.
